Carl Poposki has had a diverse career as a freelance musician and educator in Michigan, Indiana, and Texas. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Michigan (1997) and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Baylor University (2003). A nine year teaching veteran of the public schools in Michigan, he is the former Director of Instrumental Music at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte and Ovid-Elsie Area Schools.
As a veteran musician with over 23 years of professional performance experience in a variety of styles, Carl has performed with groups of almost every genre including: symphony orchestras, concert bands, wind ensembles, big band jazz, small group jazz, salsa bands, brass ensembles, theater pit orchestras, top-40 cover bands, funk bands, studio recording sessions, and as a featured soloist in both classical and jazz realms. Carl has performed with and led ensembles all over Michigan, Indiana, and Texas including the Lansing Jazz Festival, Summer Solstice Jazz Festival, Fiesta Indianapolis, as well as during Super Bowl Week 2001. Other notable musical appeances include his performances as guest conductor and trombone soloist with the Meridian Concert Band and as guest artist with the Saginaw Valley State Jazz Ensemble under the director of Jeff Hall. Most recently, Carl served as Musical Director and trombonist for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines performing for thousands of people worldwide. Currently living in Grapevine, Texas, Carl is pursuing various performance outlets as a freelance trombonist, arranger, composer, and educator in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
